Free olive oil tasting
We believe that great olive oil should always be tasted before it's bought. Every day at the shop we offer complimentary tastings of our local Kefalonian extra virgin olive oils, giving visitors the chance to compare different harvests, groves and flavour profiles side by side.
Our team will walk you through what you're tasting, from harvest timing and olive varieties to polyphenol content and the health benefits of high polyphenol olive oil. It takes about ten minutes, there's no need to book, and everyone is welcome from first-timers to olive oil regulars.

From our family grove to your kitchen
Everything on the shelves is either grown by us or made by people we know on Kefalonia. Our own extra virgin olive oils sit alongside seasonal vegetables and herbs from the family land, and the rest comes from small producers across the island.
There's raw honey from beekeepers in the Kefalonian hills, dried mountain herbs and olive leaf tea from Paliki, local sea salt, spoon sweets and preserves, handmade pasteli and mandola. The wine shelf has Robola from producers across the island, local reds and rosé, and tsipouro.

Find us in Lixouri
The Ionian Gold farm shop and olive oil tasting bar is in the centre of Lixouri, on the western side of Kefalonia across the bay from Argostoli.
The easiest way to reach us is on the ferry from Argostoli, which runs every 15 to 30 minutes in summer and takes about 20 minutes across the bay. From the ferry quay in Lixouri, the shop is a five minute walk through the centre of town.
If you're driving, Lixouri is about 30 minutes from Argostoli by road and there's on-street parking outside the shop. The address is Antiochou Evangelatou 4B, 28200 Lixouri. If you're looking for things to do in Lixouri or on the Paliki Peninsula, the tasting is free and takes about ten minutes.
